BARN RULES
The rules for Rein and Shine are designed to create and maintain a clean, safe and fun environment for people and horses.
- Appropriate paperwork MUST be completed and submitted in order to ride on property-this includes friends / children of boarders-no exceptions.
- No one is to ride a Rein and Shine horse without permission of executive director or barn manager (each and every time).
- Immediately report ANY injury (rider, horse, or barn animal) to R&S staff.
- Incident report must be completed and signed for any accident or injury.
- No drugs on the property.
- No riding or handling of horses or equipment while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
- No smoking.
- No dogs (except for Staff).
- No profanity.
- Do not leave un-supervised horses in crossties.
- Must use ASTM-SEI approved helmet for ground work and/or riding.
- Must use closed toed, hard soled shoes with a heal for all riding and handling of horses.
- Lead horses using lead line, holding 6-8 inches below horse's chin.
- Use only appropriate tack in good working condition.
- Pick up all trash.
- Put groom boxes and tack back where they belong after use.
- Do not leave grooming supplies (i.e. hoof picks, brushes) out while riding.
- Scoop manure after your horse in cross tie area or aisle of barn.
- Children must not be left unattended at any time while on property.
- Parents or adult supervision for all children up to fifteen (15) years old.
- Signed release for children ages 16-18 required if left at barn without adult supervision.
- Park in designated areas.
- Only ride in approved riding areas.
- No riding inside the barn.
- Do not medicate, feed or move horses that are not your own.
- Document all medication and feeding changes and inform staff.
- Keep all doors and gates closed at all times.
- Only R&S approved instructors are allowed to teach on property.
- Barn hours are 7am to 9pm.
- Turn out lights if last to leave.
- Rules may be added to this list on an as needed basis.
